All levels welcome! Whether it’s your first taste of improv or you’re looking to sharpen your skills, this bootcamp will help propel you to the stage. This three-hour bootcamp will explore the “yays and nays” of improv to better your versatility as a performer. You will explore using games, gibberish, and characters to heighten scenes. By the end of this workshop you will have the listening skills to create an environment and give gifts within a scene. The best part is you can pay for this workshop by giving back! It’s free if you bring three (3) non-perishable food items that DCC will collect for a local food pantry!

The instructor is Juli Stalter. This will be a three-hour workshop in DCC’s Club Theater.

ABOUT JULI:

Juli Stalter has been part of the DFW comedy scene since moving back to Dallas from Europe in 2017. She founded and directed Comical Reaction Improv in Ramstein, Germany. Formerly known as Strike Force Improv, the troupe stoked her passion for improv. Alas, shortly after Juli was hooked, the troupe lost its original director. The programming exec’s ultimatum was direct a troupe or improv is gone—Comical Reaction was born. Here in DFW, she has been part of the Comedy Arena’s ComedySportz team since 2018 and a frequent member of their other shows. She has performed on the Dallas Comedy Club stage with Dork Horse, Greathouse Playhouse, Fight Club, and Sketch Cram. Most recently, she impersonated Janis Joplin at Stomping Ground’s Dead Ringer. Juli is currently working on a production of The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge with the Core Theatre in Richardson. Also, she recently founded and directs a new troupe, Slow Death Jams. By day, she is an educator and counselor at a public school. Weird.
