IN-PERSON WORKSHOP:
‘Intimacy in Improv’ with Jacie Hood

One-Day Workshop Event
Saturday, February 26th

5:00-8:00PM
Registration: $50
DEI Scholarships Available

Workshop Description: Physical and emotional intimacy can be difficult to play onstage, especially when you’re making up the script on the spot. Learn the basics of how to use respect and trust to create vulnerability onstage while discovering new techniques on how to ask for or cue consent in the moment. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore a wide range of exercises that they can apply to their troupes, shows, and classes. Please note: this workshop will explore physical and emotional intimacy, and all students are expected to participate at a level in which they are comfortable.

This one-day, in-person workshop will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 (5:00-8:00PM). The instructor is Jacie Hood.

About the Instructor: Jacie Hood (she/they) is a comedy aficionado and theatre artist with a passion for teaching and busting out showtunes no one wants to hear. They have been studying intimacy direction since 2017 and have become a major advocate for consent culture in performance as well as diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.

All students must adhere to student policies as described in the Dallas Comedy Club Student Handbook. Workshop sizes are limited to allow for optimal instruction and student development. Students must be 18 years or older with proof of COVID vaccination to enroll and participate. All sales are final and classes are non-refundable.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS (Updated January 4, 2022): Due to the increasing COVID-19 cases, we have decided that all students and staff are required to wear a mask while in our Training Center, effective immediately. Masks must be worn during any DCC class or workshop at all times, whether you are vaccinated or not. This pertains to all Students, Student Advocates, and Instructors. This means every single person in class at tour theater must be wearing a mask at all times. Anyone who is unwilling to follow this will be asked to leave the theater immediately.
