Do you watch SNL, Key & Peele, or other sketch shows and think to yourself, “Man, I could do this…” or “I really want to try this…” well, then this class is your opportunity to explore just that! In this course, the instructor will lead you and your classmates through the basics of sketch writing, teaching you the concrete skills that will help you become a confident sketch comedy writer. Learn how to develop your skills, clarify and execute a clear premise, create original characters, and truly understand what it takes to make a great sketch. With focused lectures and specific writing assignments, you and your classmates will emerge from this course feeling excited to keep building your new portfolio of material!
This class is eight weekly sessions running from January 14, 2023 to March 4, 2023. The instructor is Aaron Figueroa. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable. All students must adhere to policies in the Dallas Comedy Club Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older to enroll and participate.
