The Student Ambassador program is designed for students who have a passion for people and want to dig deeper into subjects they have previously studied. Student Ambassadors participate in class being sure to keep an extra eye and ear open to ensure every student has the best possible experience at DCC. In exchange, Student Advocates get to form a mentor relationship with the course instructor, and can participate in the class for free!

What is a Student Ambassador?

The Student Ambassador program at DCC is designed for students who have a passion for people and want to dig deeper into subjects they have previously studied. To be considered for a Student Advocate scholarship you must have successfully completed the course as a student and obtain a recommendation from a DCC instructor. APPLY HERE

Is a Student Ambassador a teaching assistant?

No! Dallas Comedy Club does not offer teaching assistant positions. Our instructors are highly qualified and are able to give our students all the feedback they need.

Prospective instructors will be placed in classes as auditors, not as Student Ambassadors.

I want to teach at DCC. Should I apply to be a Student Ambassador?

Prospective instructors should fill out an application here! Being a Student Ambassador is not a prerequisite or precursor to teaching at Dallas Comedy Club. Instructor applicants who have successfully completed an interview process will be assigned a class to audit.

What are the perks of being a Student Ambassador?

Did you love a class so much you want to take it again? Maybe you want to try a class again with another instructor! Being a Student Ambassador is perfect for you!

Student Ambassadors assist the class by taking attendance, tracking class attendance at shows, and jam/mic attendance when applicable. Student Ambassadors are placed in beginner-level classes to help newer students get comfortable at Dallas Comedy Club and to make sure they are getting the most out of their class experience.

Student Ambassadors get all other student perks, like priority placement at open mics and free admission to most DCC shows.

How do I become a Student Ambassador?

There are a few simple qualifications:

  1. You’ve finished the course successfully.
  2. Complete this application.
  3. Obtain an instructor recommendation.

If you hit these marks we will do our best to place you in a class! Placement is first come, first served, so you may be placed on a waitlist for your preferred course. Placement is not guaranteed.

What classes can I be a Student Ambassador for?

Student Ambassadors can participate in all intro and beginner level courses, including but not limited to:

  • Levels One and Two Long Form Improv
  • Level One Short Form Improv
  • Intro to Stand-Up
  • Intro to Sketch
  • Storytelling
