Do you feel like your improv is a little “stand a deliver” rather than actually engaging with the world of the scene?  If you’re looking to unlock a full-body improvisation experience, look no further!  Incorporating elements of clowning and focusing on highly physical short form improv games, this workshop will help you be comfortable in your own skin and allow you to bring a more playful, movement oriented style to your play.  Regardless of your experience level, you’ll discover a more connected, energetic, and funny version of your improv and find the confidence to be more physical!

Join us in welcoming Vinny Tangherlini to Dallas! Vinny is a Southern California native, a published poet, a more-than-amateur plumber, and a “registered” anarchist. He started his improv journey performing as part of ComedySportz’s High School League in 2006, developing a desire for teaching game-based improvisation. In college, he continued training with CSz LA while also taking classes and performing at Second City Hollywood, iO West, and UCB. After losing both his jobs as a high school theatre critic and a hospital clown (literally not a joke), he decided he’d park his car permanently at his dad’s office and move to Chicago, where he promptly began training and performing at iO, the Annoyance, CIC, and ComedySportz Chicago. He officially joined the professional ComedySportz ensemble in 2019, working as a House Team Coach and Training Center Teacher until being promoted to Leagues Director in 2021. Currently, he has expanded the role to coach the Minor League team, oversee administration of all the House Teams, as well as instruction and coordination of the High School League and Training Center. Still teaching and learning, Vinny enjoys reading 60s Sci-Fi, listening to 70s Rock, rejecting 80s Politics, and being a 90s Kid. Professionally, he’s now a maintenance guy (he’s got small hands) and feels like that brings a level of pragmatic realism to his comedy. He bats right and plays right.

This class is one (1) two hour session. The instructor is Vinny Tangherlini. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable. All students must adhere to policies in the Dallas Comedy Club Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older to enroll and participate.
