CLASS PLACEMENT: Do you have improv experience and think you’re ready to start our program in Level 2 or even Level 3? *Note: This is the last chance to audition for class advancement. We will no longer let performers test out of lower levels in 2022. Students who do not audition will start at Level 1 regardless of experience.* Submit this form to secure your audition Sunday, November 7th. (If you cannot attend 11/07, email Kimberly Alu at email@example.com for consideration.) Check out all of our new class offerings here.
Attention all sketch writers!
DCC is thrilled to be debuting our very own sketch competition series. That’s right, you have an opportunity to put your writing, directing, and staging skills to the test to see WHO will come out on top! Sketch Cram is a weekly Sunday evening show that challenges 5 lucky sketch writers with a specific theme or gimmick to write, direct, produce, and put up a brand new sketch all within 7 days. Those chosen will receive an email 7 days before showtime with that week’s challenge. Once the sketch is written, it’s up to the writer to cast it, rehearse it, and be ready to perform it just one week later!
DCC provides the tech and stage, you provide the rest.
But what do you win?! Each week the audience will vote on ONE sketch to advance to our finals. The five writers to advance to the finals will perform one more time and whichever sketch wins will be given a two weekend run on our Mainstage Theater, a $350 class voucher, and the ultimate bragging rights!
But HOW do you win?! Audience vote! That’s right! We are leaving it up to the audience to choose their favorite sketch of the night, so pack the house with your friends and family if you want a chance to win first place!
When are these Sketch Crams anyway? All sketches will be performed on Sunday evening during the 7:30pm-9:30pm showtime in our Mainstage Theater. Those involved should expect to attend a tech rehearsal the same day as the show sometime between 12pm-5pm (times flexible). The exact dates of the Sketch Crams are: 11/07, 11/14, 11/21, 11/28, 12/05 with the finals being 12/12
I’m sold! Where do I submit?! Submit this form to be considered now!
ARE YOU A DOPPELGANGER? If you’ve been mistaken for one someone else it’s time to embrace it. Join this cast of Dallas improvisers and character actors as they perform a series of monologues from your favorite movies by your favorite characters. Please submit this JotForm if you’d like to join the cast (When submitting the JotForm, please select the actor in which you’ll be portraying, which character you’ll be dressed as, and which character monologue you’ll be performing. Ideally, you’ll be dressing up as one of the actor’s famous characters and performing a monologue from a different character portrayed by the same actor. So for example: Let’s say someone chooses Angelina Jolie, they might dress as her character from Lara Croft but is going to perform a monologue from Girl Interrupted. Make sense?)
